Anyone Work In Aquatic Trade?

Anyone else here involved in the Aquatic trade?

I have worked part-time in an aquatic store now for the past nine years, started when I was still at school after turning 16 and continued on throughout my four years at college and then three at University. Now one year after leaving Uni I have finally decided this is what I would like to continue to do but only with a lot more freedom and control over the bigger decisions,

At present I have researched suppliers/distributors, looked into how to get a pet shops licence, bookmarked all the necessary fixtures/fittings required and been in contact with both Casco and John Allan with regard to prices for economy units, All I need now is to Fathom out the money side with regard to bank accounts, tax, and VAT, find a suitable base to work from and then make everything a reality!

With working out the money side of things go talk to your local bank and see what they say - I know a few banks are offering free business set up help at the moment which is good though the idea is they give you free help and you set up an account with them I think?

as much as my LFS owner tells me I am mad its my dream to give up my day job and do exactly the same
times are hard now for any small business especially a new one, my wife set up on her own lately and our local area has a scheme to help new businesses from advice to accounts and she got a grant from that scheme along with vital help and advice
