I have always felt this setup was a waste of time and money for a number of reasons.

1. What happens when the net goes down?
2. What happens if you are busy and not getting emails when the problem occurs.
3. Why is this system any better, more accurate of cheaper to operate than in home monitoring?

I have a thermometer in every tank, they cost a few dollars. I have one tank I need to run at pH 6.0 and very low TDS. Maintaining these parameters is critical for the fish in this tank, this system would be useless.

I run a combination monitor on this tank that gives me a continuous readout for conductivity/TDS, temperature and pH. All I have to do is look at it to know what is up. My only annual cost for this is the pH 7 and 4 calibration solutions needed to reset the pH probe every few months.

I think there is a thread here on this system. Some folks love this product, I am not one of them. Here is one good reason why. Most true fish nuts have multiple tanks, I currently have about 19 running. I can move my monitor to other tanks if i need to check them. With the Seneye I doubt this is possible.

How much does it cost every year to use this system on one tank?

How often do you need to test for ammonia in a cycled tank? What happens in a cycling or even cycled tank when the problem is nitrite or nitrate, does it measure these? It doesn't measure TDS which is more important than pH, it doesn't even measure redox which can be an issue but which almost none of us measure.

Gee it will tell you if the light on the tank goes out. Considering even a planted tank can last a week in a complete blackout, why is this a mission critical piece of information? If you are not way from home you will discover a burned out bulb when you get home and if you are away from home you wont be able to replace it anyhow.

I see this product as a waste of one's money for the most part. And the sales pitch is aimed directly at newbies who do not know any better. I love how it says it will measure low levels of NH3. It better since at .05 ppm they become an issue. But if you have an API test kit for total ammonia and a link to an ammonia calculator you can find this number easily and quickly yourself. But what about NH4, this can also cause harm at a higher levels. Which is why we need to know both NH3 and NH4 levels- aka total ammonia

Finally, do a bit of research and you will find that a decent ammonia probe - just the probe- runs over $600. My 3-way monitor cost me well over $220 for just the TDS/Temp/pH functions. So exactly how accurate and reliable do we think a setup that cost $149 for all the features listed actually might be?

Caveat emptor. Ask yourself exactly why you would need this product and what things it doesn't tell you.

Do not buy these! There rubbish, At that price there to cheap to be of any use. Your speaking 3000-5000$ for a decent kit.

I wouldn't need it; I don't even own a cellphone!  I was just curious about it as I was browsing and come across it.
