does anyone know how to breed ghost shrimp? i want to get some for pets, but i
try to breed aquatics as much as i can. (there is NO overcrowding) :fish:

All I did to make mine breed was just put 4 in the same 5 gallon tank and i waited. I actually wasn't trying to breed them. I bought them to eat uneaten food, and they started to breed

They breed, well, like shrimp. Faast, and without effort.

I was reading the other day the story of someone on here (currently selling some shrimp in classifieds) of shrimp living in temps up to 34'c in a bowl in sunlight with no filtration, and still staying berried and producing live young. They really dont seem to be too fussy. Thats said, he did advise it was due to being on holiday and a heat wave, it wasnt intended. It just proves how resilient some species are.

Pop them in a suitable tank with a large chunk of mosss, and you'll have babies in lesss than 60 days i would imagine. You might not see them, ive got baby Cherries that i see once in a blue moon.

If they are berried when you get them, you might "see" babies out and about after about 45-60 just because they are so tiny and will hide for fear or predation. If they;re not berried, expect 90ds (ish) before seeing babies. Once you have babies, they'll keep coming :)

I agree, I have 9 in my cichlid tank along with bigger amano shrimp, as part of my clean up crew....they breed constantly...though most of the babies get eaten or sucked into the filter.
