My other topic refered to me upgrading to a 40 gallon where i could house the id for a year or two maybe even more. Lots of research shows that they tend to average out at about 40cm in home aquaria.

can you please reference this research so that we can have a read? Sounds interesting.

Hmmmm...and if you scroll down on that page there are numerous people who have them, 17, 20, even 27"...

The only reason they stop at 12" (unless you've been 'lucky' enough to get one of the smaller Pangasius spp, but that's highly unlikey) is because they're stunted.

I know thanks. thats why im planning out my future to house him if he get any bigger than 12" in a very large aquaria (80) gallons wouldn't be bad but the bigger the better.

I do tend to measure my fish when they come up against the aquaria glass. and if he gets too agressive i will have to move him

that doesnt answer the question. stunting is very hard to spot and once its set in, its set in for life.

I do that with my ruler. The trick is to bring it up to the glass very slowly. Anything fast freaks your fish out.
