Anyone Know What This Is

does anyone know what this stuff is on the top of the water ive had it for a few weeks now i thought it would go away but its not.i keep cichlids in the tank

the pics make the water look murky but it is clean

have you changed food products at all? some foods give like a oil film on the surface

Either from some new wood or food.

Drag a piece of newspaper across the surface and it will remove it.

Agree with both of the above, will be the oil/fat from food nothing to worry about. I use a 2lr empty coke bottle, submerge it right way up and hold the opening just under the waterline, it will act as a vacuum like a bath plug or a surface skimmer
