Anyone Know What This Is?

In this video, the person seems to be using a water syphon which is attached to the tap and once they've finished syphoning, they turn something at the tap and then fresh water is pumped back into the tank. The description just says "auto gravel cleaner" and there's nothing in the description which gives the make/model etc.

Yeah, if you take a look at the first comment it pretty much sums it up if you live in the UK, don;t ask me why...

I think they are called pythons in the US

I have seen those in the store. But how do you had add the water conditioner before adding it if it is coming straight from the tap?

i add the conditioner straight to the tank.... that's what i was told to do, anyway!

If you're re-filling tanks straight form the tap with a hose, you put enough dechlor for the whole tank in the tank before you start refilling. I've been doing it this way for about 6 months after my back got too bad to carry on doing three 200l+ tanks with buckets and have had no problems.

I`ve been using a self made 'python' for a while now and it`s made life so much easier and less painful when doing the water changes on the tanks. I refill my tanks from a mixer tap in the kitchen now instead of heaving buckets around.

Do make sure if you connect and refill from a mixer tap that you keep a careful eye on the water temperature as it can sometimes fluctuate :good:

A very good point, elise! As I don't have a mixer tap, I normally jug in a couple of buckets of hot water as I go, and I do run the cold water in quite slowly
