Anyone Know Someone That Will Ship Glofish To California?

Hello. My wife is in love with these fish. Does anyone know where I can get some for her? Either mailed from online store or a store in California that has em? If you dont wanna post, then message me. I still dont know why theyre not allowed in Calif, I cant imagine the state has any money in its budget to pay for the tropical fish police. If any info, thank you.

Well if they are not allowed in the state... you shouldnt be trying to get them. There is a very good reason for them being banned, same reason noone in the UK has them, they arent imported into the UK.

Try reading a few articals about how unnatural they are and what they do to the fish to make them these stupid colours.

have you? glofish aren't dyed, they have genes added to them from corals / jelly fish to make them glow while they are in the embryo stage

I'd imagine if you tried to ship in the fish they'd probably stop them at the border anyway, being as they're illegal and all. Although I don't know why any company would admit to shipping to California when it's against the law for them to do so.

I know a lot of people in the US keep fish that they aren't supposed to have (especially big fish keepers with snakeheads/arowanas etc) but if you're going to break the law it's really not sensible to post about it all over a message board!

The fish police arent going to knock on my door. I think the state has plenty enough to worry about then my fish tank. There are people posting on sites all over the web asking about purchasing illegal drugs, you can go to Los Angeles and almost buy a box of cracker jacks and find a vial of crack.

I agree with everyone (yes even you OP). While the laws are pretty ridiculous (banning genetically modified fish...?)....it is the law. If your going to try to break it, i wouldn't be posting on a public forum
