I can't find much information on this weird fish for sale beyond being from west africa - it isn't clear to me if this is the west african version of an otto or something else completely different. I was thinking of adding it to the nt's aquarium but unsure if this is a good idea.

several yes’s ago, when I set up my African tetra tank I was looking for a similar fish, to polish off the anubias, like my panda gara do in my hillstream tank… a quick search this morning, and I couldn’t find any reference to it eating algae, only that it lives in the mud, so it may be a micro predator rather than a plant eater???

As most Garra sp. and also judging by the anatomy of the fish G. ornata is most definitely an algae eater
This is all I could find - Bump-Head Garra (Garra ornata) - The Free Freshwater and Saltwater Aquarium Encyclopedia Anyone Can Edit - The Aquarium Wiki https://share.google/V2HsnjLwK4ouKK7VC

Yes but i can't find out much like if they need fast current et all.
