Hi there
I have a 30 litre tank and posted on here for suggestions of what I could keep in it. One of the suggestions was Dwarf Puffers.

I've been looking into these are they are so cute but I'm bit concerned about looking after them. A few questions...

- how many could I keep in 30 litres? I'm thinking 1 or 2, I'm not sure if 1 one be happy by itself as I don't think I'd be keeping anything else and if it's two I'm presuming 2 females would be best?

- feeding concerns me a bit, sounds like they're a bit fussy. Anyone had experience of feeding them? Sounds like they prefer live food and leave a fair bit of mess behind too.

Would be grateful for any other advice too.

thanks

from the research I have done on them, you can fit 1-3 in a 5 Gallon BUT you do need to have a cycled tank and expect to do alot of up keep. They are suppose to produce alot of waste so you need a good filter. A few notes about them from what i hear is:

-They like sand
-They need snails to prevent teeth from growing to large
-Territorial so you need alot of hiding spots and space for each puffer
-They supposedly eat frozen food (im not sure) snails are a good source to though.
-They are hardy to water conditions from what I hear BUT due to not having scales are very very sensitive to ammonia/nitrite
