The title says it all.... I am looking for a Picture of a Pregnant Zebra Danio, as the one I have is pritty fat, and im not sure if it is sick, or just pregnant...

1 quick way to check.
If the scales are sticking out at the belly at odd angles then she has dropsy. This is caused by bacteria, so (duh) you may need some anti-bacterial stuff.

Zebra Danios lay eggs.........that means that she's not really pregnant. They've probably already bred and ate the eggs. If you're going to breed them its going to be harder than a livebearer.

Females get fat when they are ready to spawn an therefore she may not have done the deed yet.

Okay, well she is defentently fat, she looks like shes about to burst.

I just purchased some glass marbles for the bottom of the breeding tank, and im gonna put those in right now.

But again, does anyone have any pictures of a zebra danio that is ready to spawn?

Great pic in that first link, really shows the difference in the striping of the female and male, which you will rarely see unless you have a pink light in your tank (which I have lol)

The first pic makes the female look big but thats how adult females are. Just means they are ready to spawn when they find their mate, if they haven't already.

Good Luck, if yours is fat then she is ready to the the deed.

Yes, That is EXACTLY how mine looks!

Could someone here give me some steps to follow from this point?

Currently i have the male and female in the same tank, with marbles on the bottom, and some plants and cave type decoration, that they can hide in.
I have them seperated with a tank divider, as i just moved them into the tank, and i want them to prepair for laying the eggs, and get used to the water, before i let them be with each other.... is that the right thing to do?
