Hi there.

Just wondering whether anyone was looking to offload any fry for free ( guppies or platys particularly). Will be happy to pay postage. I keep hearing that mollies need salt and that would be difficult with my tank with bristlenose and yo yo loaches. Does everyone on here actually use salt ? The last time I had mollies was when I was lot younger and we never used salt at all. They seemed to do OK.

I've got balloon molly fry, and many more on the way--green/green-dalmation, black, lyre-tail dalmation, and hopefully soon some lyre-tail calicos. Most of the adolescents I currently have are already "taken," but if you decide you would like some, and are willing to wait a few weeks or so, I'll have more--always completely free except for shipping charges.

Mollies do require at least a small amount of salt to stay healthy, unless you can keep the tank absolutely pristine. There's detailed info in this thread (look for posts by "nmonks") and in the pinned topic at the top of this forum.

Most fish can survive with a very low amount of salt in the water, but I don't know specifically how well yours would do. I keep my mollies at a specific gravity of only about 1.002-1.003 (freshwater is 1.000, and full brackish is closer to 1.014.)

i have a beautiful guppy who is expecting and a lovly swordtail that is also expecting i am planning on keeping a few of the male guppies with particular coloring and 1-3 females guppies for specific breeding as well as my swordtail as long as you are willing to wait a little while for them so that i can get some pictures and are willing to pay postage please email me

Thanks guys yes Ill wait . My spare tank is in use at the moment anyway. As for the mollies, I do like them but the salt business is putting me off . I have well planted tank too and the plants would probably suffer with salt added. shame!

i got like 50 or so assorted gups of different ages from week to a few months old.
problem is its easier to give to my local. if u were willing to pay a lil for a group.. :)
