Anyone Got An Aqua One Eurostyle Tank?

My husband and I just upgraded to an Aqua One Eurostyle 100 (240l) tank. Well, we've bought it & assembled the cabinet - and were hoping to move the fish into it today (don't worry, we'll be moving over our filter media & gravel etc too ).

I have a slight concern, and I'm hoping someone here has the same tank and can allay my fears!

The bolt heads on the top panel protrude - ie, the holes in the top board do not have extra depth/width to account for the bolt head. The bolt heads are sort of smoothed off in finish, and the tank does have a polystyrene mat to go beneath it... but I would have thought the bolts would sink down into the top panel. I've tried the panel both ways around and neither has hidden countersunk holes!

No luck getting Aqua Pacific (Aqua One's UK distributor) on the phone today - guess they don't work Saturdays. Hubby is pushing to move our fish into the new tank today and I'd like some assurance that the bolts are supposed to be as they are.

I wondered about trying to drill out the holes a bit more (not that I have a suitable drill bit, but could go and get one), but that might invalidate the warranty due to tampering.

Anyone got one of these tanks and have the same issue? Is it okay? Or should the bolts be sunk back in - maybe I had a faulty top piece?

i have the same one and had the same concern, the tank bottom is slightly raised up so it will not touch the bolts on the top. it has a plastic edging to the bottom of the tank that takes the weight.

one concern i had was the bolts on the bottom scratched my wooden floor so i went and got some plastic screw plugs and glued them on.


now the tank is full of water it is slightly unsteady if you rock it but it think that is because it is on slighlty higher points that it should be if you get what i mean.

i wouldnt do this as it could weaken the support of it, also i think they are threaded with metal in the holes

Thanks so much! That's really helpful - we haven't taken the tank out of the box yet (need it in the box to ease moving it into the lounge!) so didn't realise it was slightly raised. Excellent, we can move the fish in! Thanks also for the tip about the wood floor - will put some covering on the bolts

when yours is up and running let me know if its slightly unstable like mine, i would assume any tank would be like this on carpet though and i am just being paranoid
