In my bedroom I have 2 BiOrbs which are both from the same extension lead. The plug is located behind my wardrobe which has an extension lead that supplies power to my 30 litre biOrb and then an extension lead running off of that to my baby biorb on the other side of my bed. I am getting interferance with my tv. I have tried un plugging individual things and it seems that it is my heater in the baby biorb that is causing it. How could this be? Is there any way of stopping it?

Does this make sense?

It seems that it is when the thermostat turns off that it makes the tv freeze!

if you have the lead of the heater/extention lead near the aerial/earial lead you will get interference but there shouldnt be any other reasons for interference

basicly you keep telephone and areial cables away from main cables/extention leads etc due to the magnetic field and different voltages

I had the same problem with a 12V uv filter
I added a Interference 'Filter for UHF TV Receivers'
(which should be available from any good electrical retailers
or readily found on Ebay) and the problem was solved

im accualy having the same problems with my lights, 2- 65w bulbs and they are causing my tv to be all wierd.

Also make sure you have good quality extension leads i.e. newer ones with the circuit breaker. You say you run an extension lead off another extension lead that aint good, best option would be to get a electrician to fit another plug, you should take care with electrics, my house was set on fire ten years ago because of a plug overheating.

I have used all the previously mentioned methods and they work in most cases. I just wanted to add one more product that could help.

I have what is called a MONSTER Power Strip. It filters the electrical power going in and out of each device. It is desined for entertainment centers, but have found it works wonderfully with fish tanks and filtering out the "fuzz" to my TV. I can even have my Microwave and my TV on the same circuit and absolutly no interferance when I use the Microwave!

I purchased the MONSTER Power Strip from a local store here in the U.S.A. called BestBuy.com They can be a little pricey, but they work great.
