Anyone have any experience or knowledge of this fish?

Assuming they're super aggressive...

Nandopsis/(ex)Cichlasoma/Hericthys

Any of the above, depending on what mood the Fish Police are in i think...

If we are talking about grammodes, they are very aggressive from what I've heard, females especially.

They will be classified parachromis in the end i reckon, they do really look like Dovii's, i know of these fish now i realise they are 'Grammodes', never kept or seen one but read a lot about them and seen pics on MFK, I think the awesome thing about Doviis are the size tho, dunno if i'd like a little one, i prefer Jaguars and Red Tiger Motagenuese :)

It was the size that seemed appealing to me.

Would love a jag, but their size is hoooge!

RTM's are the way to go for you then mate! they are beautiful! and nasty!

But RTMS are to Jags what Grammodes are to Doviis (mini versions) so depends on which one is your taste.

Grammodes are very popular on MFK, which makes me think they are more common in america, that ebay link seems cheap enough, so maybe go and do something unique and grab a fish that none of us have etc (the Grammode)

Another Guapote option is Salvini, they are pretty much Parachromis and are much smaller than Grammodes and RTMs again :)

But....they are common, RTMs and Grammodes are unheard of in most places :)

Rtm = red tiger motagenuse yeah? I like these too, but the tank would be a little empty due to stocking complications...

I love salvini's, I passed up on a pair on here a few months back, and regreted it. :/

Kept RTMs in the past, awesome colours, beautiful fish with character....although very, very aggressive, my pair wouldnt accept any tankmates whatsoever. Would have loved to keep them, but was offered festae (red terrors) which are an all time fave :)

True, stunning fish festae but I definitely preferred the behaviour of RTMs, like Jags they are much more interactive, much braver, whereas the festae pair are much more unsociable and shy (with human presence), unless they're breeding.

I'd definitely like to keep grammodes at some point, have heard they're mini head bangers :)
