Any Suggestions For Lighting?

Long post so tea and biscuits for those who finish and can give a helpful answer!

So, I currently have NO lighting over my tank because i bought kindle lights thinking they'd be helpful but REALLY arent.

I was waiting for my tax refund to get new stuff and it has come early, this week infact YAY!

However my tank has no hood and nowhere to suspend lights from, so i need to find a hood or make one.
I need some decent lighting to grow low light low C02 plants and possibly a hood although I'd appreciate it if someone could help me make lighting/hood and maybe a stand.

Has anyone got any ideeas where i should buy lights / stuff to buy lights?

why not go for a open top tank and have an overhead light like theses

I saw a good post here but I can't remember who it was from, that made a light reflector for their open-topped tank out of plastic guttering so that's an idea.

How about those clip-on LED lights like some nanos/marines have?

yeah that was minnt that did the guttering but its the whole making the light thing about that!

its 36 long by 12 wide

and i cant have the overhead lights because theres nowehere to suspend them from~! and theyre extremely expensive, and i dont like aps.

Just do the guttering trick. If you can source the starter and ballast unit, the rest will cost you about £5 to make. Then about £6-7 for the bulb... Although APS do a twin pack of 24w T5 bulbs for about 12 quid!
