Hi all,

After struggling on with buying cheap Chinese co2 kits, the time has come to try and find something a little bit better.

Would rather buy a complete kit, something that i could hide away in the cabinet rather than going down the route of making one up with fire extinguishers - has anybody got any experience with any that there happy with?

Thanks in advance for any replys.

Nick.

You can buy FE CO2 kits on aquarist classifieds, that's what I'd recommend as they last forever, I think the ones you find buy companies like JBL are z rip off.

I've been wondering this too. Not sure I trust myself to do the DIY FE as if it goes wrong I could die lol.

I've been using one by a company called 'waterlife', which i'm guessing by all the chinese writing is made in china

It's a 90 gram bottle, and i've used two bottles since the 2nd week in january. I'm only using the co2 maybe for 5 hours a day, after i get back from work - was thinking that maybe i had a suspect regulator/or a leak?

Have heard that the most 'cost effective' way of doing it is with a fire extinguisher, but tbh not sure that i look of it an would rather look at options.

Regards nick.

you could always go for the welding cylinder option, up to 600g a pop and cheaper to set up than the FE sets. More compact too and less likely to blow up your living room.
