Any Of You Have A Clue What Type Of Fish This Is?

I reckon it is a swordtail/platty breed, its got the characteristics of a platty but a longer body like a swordtail, i have some platty/swordtail fry but they are too young to compare to this one

I agree. I have a swordtail Platy hybrid female and she looks the same. Only she is fatter. About how large is it? That will allow us to tell?

He's 1.5"... I've looked at pics of platy/swordtail hybrids and some are similar, but they still seem too rounded. He definitely has a platy-like face and whatnot. The only thing that really stands out is that, in comparison to both the platy/swordtail and just the regular swordtail, my fish has a much, much taller dorsal fin.

I had no idea that this would be such a complicated fish.. I made a good choice haha.

Actually, I just got back from checking out a different fish store and they had "painted swordtails." They look just like him and he's a tad smaller than their males that are just starting to grow their swords. I guess he just more of a baby than I thought

Welcome to the forum Teanuhh.

It is a juvenile swordtail. Expect to see a sword on him within the next month. It is already starting to develop. That is why you can already see a bit of a bulge in the lower rays of his tail. If you look closely, his gonopodium is not fully developed yet either.

His anal fin is already a lot longer and I can now definitely see his sword growing It's exciting to watch.
