I am getting concerned as to why this is now the 3rd fish with one of these strange lumps, around 10 months ago now I lost my converum with one of these lumps under his gill plate, around 6 months ago I lost one of my large true parrots again one of these lumps that came through his gill plate and into his mouth. The converum was in a different tank to the tp and to the diadema, so I know the problem is not tank related. Last week Bailey my diadema went off her food for 2 days and I noticed her bottom lip looked sore, I put it down to a tiff with the tetramerus as she started eating again. It has taken just a couple of days for this nasty looking lump to form, the other fish that had it I isolated and treated with everything I had but I lost them both within 3 weeks of first spotting the lump, they grow really fast and you can see blood vessels in the lump (presuming tumour of some sort). I desperately dont want to loose Bailey
Aww no I cant really add anything, hope she pulls through.
I know this is a bit of an iffy area on here but given the circumstances I am hoping this will be aloud - I would post in the illness sections on the British Cichlid Forum, EA Cichlid Forum and the Cichlidae Forum - I know on the EA forum there are quite a few people good at meds for cichlids and all of these are specialist forums.
I know you will do your best If I can help email me.
Aww no But look, don't feel bad about it at all she had the best possible home with you in a much bigger tank than I could have offered at the time, you raised her to be an absolute stunning fish. I just wish we knew what this lump in the mouth was.
Thanks Wills I measured her before I burried her 11" nose to tail and weighed just under 800g she was a big beautiful girl, the tank looks empty without her, she is irriplacable to me
Geees!! So much for the 8 inches most sites say for them lol. She was a fantastic fish Im just glad she had a good home. Put up some pictures of her from her glory days
