any idea on a sev lifespan? how long to mature?

does any1 have an idea of a severum life span? or how long it takes them 2 mature?

I would say that in 4-6 months they would be sexually mature, but it could take over a year for one to reach full size. I think sevs can live for 20+ years under good conditions

Just remember, the faster we force them to grow, the more it shaves of their potential lifespan. In the wild it takes them much longer to mature then in the aquarium - so don't go fattening them up for quick growth!

It's not really disagreeing , he did say over a year .

It also depends on how old they are when we get them .

Ours was about 2" in July/2005 [ no idea how old he was ].
Anyway he's about 8" now
