Any Advice On Krib Babies?

i was just cleaning my tanks and look what i found.there are loads of them. they are tiny, must be too small to move yet?? they are following their mum all over, i have done a small 20% WC but im not going to mess around with the filter etc as they seem to be doing so well,and would hate to start messing them about

what about feeding them?
how long should i leave them in there?? they must have hatched either this morning or yesterday at some time ( no i didnt see any eggs)

Liquifry I expect would be good to feed them, or soak some flakes and crush them really small.

just feed as normal the parents will chew food and spit it out for them alternatively some good small live food or if you can newly hatched brine shrimp you can also buy liquifry but i don't bother using mine as they grow well with the food i feed the parents congrats though

oh thanks, im chuffed to bits ill pop out in a bit and get a new bottle of liquifry as the one i have dates back from Feb, and see if i can get some live food too, im glad i didnt put anything in the 320 now minx,cos i would have been kicking myself right about now im not going to go down the brine shrimp road cos i had no luck the last time i tried it, ill nip out now and see what i can find

hi sheluagh when my kribs hatched i just fed them crushed flake and frozen daphnia and they did fine hun

aye right lol, im not talking to him now, cos he went for me again this morning, and had a right go with the hose pipe so glad that wasnt my finger, i have started trying to bribe my way back into his affections, but dunno if it will work

thanks Scoti, i managed to get some liquifry and frozen blood worm for mum and dad, but ill crush some flake and put that in too,as the tank is so heavily planted i dont know if they will find the liquifry,ill have a go tho

they should be fine hun i had to make a perspex divider that the fry could swim through when they were to large to be eaten but not the parents as they kept attackin my gourami as they spawned in my community tank the parents can be well feisty for there size

oh right, well thats ok as they are in there alone ( 2 kribs &babies) apart from a clown loach that i had to literally chuck in the other day, i cnt see him at the moment but as soon as i do ill put him back in with Jambo, as i wouldnt want him to be bullied, hes been through enough

Well done! Told ya kribs bred like mad- and aren't the babies cute! I never gave mine any special treatment at all, just let mum and dad look after them so I would worry too much. Just be prepared to find a new batch every few weeks xx

yeah they are ever so cute, they are sort of swimming on their bellies, looks really sweet, now for my unanswered Q.. how long do they stay with mum and dad?- who are doing a great job of looking after them
