Fish Herder
So, i just bought a second/third/fourth (you never know!) hand tank from ebay. Undescript 2 footer with no lid, lights, filter etc. Just a bare tank. Bought it on ebay, collection only. (£4.20 too, i might add)
Just called the person selling it to see if it could be picked up this evening. No problem apparently, it just needs to be emptied of remaining SAWDUST. Turns out it had gerbils in it for two weeks after a cage broke and they escaped.
Im now worried ive bought 5 panels of useless glass. Can i use it as intended (Spare hospital/QT tank)? It was bought by its current owner with no intention of keeping fish, just a temp home for some pumped up rats.
Im worried about a a few things;
Ammonia - We all know how rancid these furry creatures can smell if they're not cleaned. Will the ammonia from the gerbil pee be easy to get out?
The Seals - Im worried her furry little friends might have damaged the seals around the edges either with claws or teeth. She had no idea about the seals on a tank, so i wont know til i get there.
In short, its going to cost me £5 in fuel to pick it up, and the tank was £4.20. If its no good, ill paypal her the £4.20 for her troubes instead of Cash on coll, and not bother leaving the house. As if i leave and have to go home, ill have wasted fuel anyway.......
