Another Stocking Recommendation

Ordered my new tank today, and my new 323ltr (89usg) tank will be here Friday. Should be able to cycle is straight away as I already have a tank, so i'm hoping a squeeze will push things alone nicely.

I'm after some idea's around what to stock it with.

Here's what I already have:

11 Rummynose Tetra's
7 Dwarf Neon Rainbows (4f, 3m)
1 Baby bristlenose
1 Dwarf Flame Gourami
AND...
1 male Betta

Seemingly, these fish actually live in harmony together in my tank already. Ideally, i'd like to KEEP the betta in the new tank, so I'd like possible stocking solutions with him involved, but I do have a tank which I moved him from originally which I can use to put him back into if need be.

I plan to have my new tank with sand and well planted, providing plenty of cover. Driftwood etc as well. Place to hide and forest about.

I was thinking perhaps some Redline Rasbora's or Ruby Barbs or black phantom tetra's? also, would I have scope for another smallish pleco? I'm after something different from the tank, not the "norm", cardinals, neons, zebra danio's etc.

As i said, ideally i'd like to keep the Betta in the tank, but it's not essential. He can be moved.

a big shoal of cherry barbs ?

for plecs, head to the plec section and theres a pinned topic about plecs under 8 inches, which i reckon would be fine for your tank, i'd probably even have 2. will more depend on your temp and ph i guess, and which ones you like the look of that fall within those parameters. theres loads of nice looking plecs, i recently got an L204 flash plec, its mega nice. my mate has some royal whiptails that are stunning.

some of the 'rarer' cories ?

i saw some paynei catfish a few weeks ago, they stay about 2-3 inches, peaceful and look amazing. if i had room id go buy the 3 at the shop. 5-6 quid each. a group would look good.

cant see any of the fish above hassling your betta.

Just been flicking through the pleco section...my PH sits at around 7.8...that's the only thing.

I'll keep looking, just need to find something that'll bump up the mid/top tank levels.

I think your Ph of 7.8 will allow most fish except the really sensitive ones, discus and GBR. Most tank bred fish do fine in that Ph. I have a steady Ph of 8.0 and do well with most fish so don't get too focused on Ph.

And above, if you are sticking with community fish how about a big bunch of amano shrimp.
