I really really must get a camera as what I saw tonight was unbelievable. My female Ellioti is in my little boys room, her only tank mates: a mississippi map turtle and a plec. She was hovering over a large batch of eggs this evening, beside her standing proud the turtle  The alarming thing is some of the eggs almost look fertile (I know they are not she must have not long spawned)

Maybe you could get tellioti's! JK i know they won't be fertile but it would be cool seing what they look like.

Do map turtles get on with fish in the same tank or is yours only a baby? I thought turtles being carnivorous would nip fins and eat any fish that fits in their mouth

My map is full grown, the male mississippi map only reaches 6" and is one of the sorts of turtles that can be kept with fish, so long as they are bigger than his mouth and as he is tiny he is quite ok with most fish.
