Hello all!

I am new to fish keeping and so I decided to register on here in case I run into some trouble as I don't know a great deal! I have a tank set up at the moment and it seems to be doing OK! I have so far been relying on my Grandad's knowledge which isn't too great.

This is my tank. It has 4 neons, 2 yellow mollies, 1 silver molly, 2 red gouramis and 3 really colourful fish that I don't know the names of. There are also 2 red crystal shrimp hiding in there somewhere. I think that's the correct name. I apologise for my accuracy on the names of fish but I am new as I said.

I look forward to speaking with you all!

Adam

hello and welcome Adam! Nice tank and nice Fender!

have a good look around and don't be afraid to ask questions. :good:

Hi, :hi: to the forum!

Nice tank!
Could the unknown fish be Endlers? (I am looking at the fish at the top centre?)

Welcome, I hope you enjoy the forum, and welcome to the hobby.

Looking at your picture I'd guess at guppies for the colourful ones. Some close up photos would help with ID though.

Take a gander at the beginners section, you'll find lots of really useful stuff in there.

Are you planning on making it planted?:good:

Am I right in assuming that planted means filling it with plants? You will have to excuse me, my brain isn't quite turned on at the moment!

I have just searched them on google and it seems they are so thanks!

I have tried to take a close up picture but they are swimming all over the place so they are blurry!

Aye, planted means filling with plants, and then opens a whole realm of new questions about what kind and how you're doing it. The phrase you're looking for as a beginner with plants is low tech, and it can produce some remarkable displays.

They do swim around fast, sometimes feeding them helps to get them to sit still for half a second where you can plan for them to be, but only sometimes.
