Another Filter Decision

[Maz 1979]

I have a 160ltr tank but will be upgrading in the future and am looking to buy a new filter. I will prob get a 300ltr when i do upgrade so am choosing a filter with the capabilities to match that.
I have narrowed it down to two and am looking for opinions if not on the specific models on experiences of the brand, parts, after sales service etc.

All opinions welcomed,

1st choice- EHEIM 350 FILTER 2073 PRO 3 -eBay

2nd Choice - Eheim Pro 3e 2076 - 2076

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

take the pump output LPH and half it so if it says 1000LPH its around 500LPH due to the pump ratings being given minus media you need to aim for a minimum of 5x whatever the tank is so if you did go for the 2073 you would need to run 2 especially if you do upgrade

Eheim are one manufacturer that actually measures their flow rates with the media in. so the actual figure would be nearer the stated amount by them. And also, that statement is a poor one. Why tar all filters with the same brush? TetraTEC's filters are way above half the stated flow, so you saying half is a load of rubbish.

Maz, there is a thread in the DIY section i believe regarding the actual outputs of filters tested by members. May be of some help.
