i just got my first angelfish last night and was wondering if anyone has any little things to keep watch for from personal experience?? my little one is black with white marbling, and only about 1 1/2- 2 inches tall. for the next few days it is staying in my 10 gallon community tank til either monday or tuseday when i can rehome my remaining goldfish. at which point my angel along with 3 serpe tetras will be going into my 30 gallon where they will be the only fiosh for awhile. by the end of october i plan on having either a 55 or a 75 gallon tank that he/she will go into with some sort of other fish probably rainbows.

Well I can't think of any little things other than, watch for any normal and common diseases. Also watch for lip fungus and fin rot as their fins can often be clear and it's hard to see if anythings damaged. Watch for a healthy appetite, and thats about it. Enjoy your new angelfish.

Keep an eye on the serpaes - they're notorious fin nippers.

I haven't had any problems with my angles
All you need to remember is they will eat other fish that will fit in there mouth but then again most will.
At the size your is at you should be right.

Too what has been said before a lot of tetras are fin nippers which can stress out your angles and that is when health problems arrive.

They can get aggressive towards other fish that are trying to take domanence of the tank, I would keep the angle as the main fish and get others to live around them.

Good luck and angles are hardy fish so you shouldn't have too many problems.

we had 2 in a tank at school and the bigger one i was told would fight the other one and take all the food before it had a chance to eat, eventually the smaller one died, so i suppose dominance and aggresion is one thing to watch out for.we had 2 in a tank at school and the bigger one i was told would fight the other one and take all the food before it had a chance to eat, eventually the smaller one died, so i suppose dominance and aggresion is one thing to watch out for.
