Hi,
I was thinking about getting a 45 gallon tank with three angelfish. Currently I have some guppies, platies, cories, a mytery snail, and a rubberlip pleco. I was planning on keeping the snail, pleco, cories, and maybe some platies, but definitely not any guppies. I was hoping for some suggestions as to what other fish I could get with the angels and if my current fish would work with the angels?
Thanks

The first thing you need to note is. Is your tank 18 inches In depth. This is the smallest depth you can have to keep angles. They get well masssiivvee.

I'm not sure 'massive' is the word, but they certainly get very tall!

And you absolutely can't keep three. Angels can be quite nasty to each other.

You need to either keep a group of six or seven in a much bigger tank (and even then you can get problems if two pair off), a proven pair (two random angels rarely pair up, plus they're very difficult to sex) or just one (they do very well as specimen/centrepiece fish).

A shoal of one of the larger tetras is the usually accompaniment for angels. Most people don't recommend neons/cardinals, as they do form part of the diet of wild angels, but, I have to say, I haven't had an angel get big enough to eat a neon for many years now, although I do keep marbled/veiltailed ones, which I'm sure are terribly inbred. The wild type angels might get a lot bigger.
