Angelfish Spending A Lot Of Time Near The Surface

My Angelfish have been acting a bit abnormal today spending a few minutes at the surface and then swimming around. Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on? Im testing my water right this second so ill have stats soon

Might be a few things, high ammonia, lack of oxygen, just bad water with high nitrates...... tank stats?? how big is the tank?? airstone or enough water agitation???

Ammonina- 0.00
Nirite- Appears to be a bit over o.o so I'll do a 30% water change
Nirate- 10

Not entirely sure this is do to water quality.

Your stats seem fine beside the Nitrites....... WATER CHANGE........Does your tank get enough circulation?? Maybe its bobbing for air?

Im with this idea in that its bobbing for air. Do you have much plant life within the tank? That could help with any air problem. Its more than likely the problem if all other states appear fine.

Yeh its a planned tank with decent surface agitation so I'm really stumbed

I went ahead and added a small 10 gallon air pump I had spare so we'll see what happens
