As a recent addition to our tank, my better half has got herself 3 silver angelfish. These seem to delight in taking bites from the large tablets of food that go in the tank for the bottom feeders - however al they seem to do, is take a mouthful, wait a moment, then spit it back out again in a fine spray of crumbs... and they just keep on doing it.

They've eaten other food fine, swllowing flakes, micro pellats and frozen blood worm - but they seem to be deliberatly breaking up and dispersing the large tablets. Is this normal behavior?

Cheers

Angels diets mainly consist of fish, insects and similar stuff, i found them to be extremely greedy, and will have a go at anything, but tend to spit algae based stuff out again.

my male firemouth does the same thing, but my female firemouth doesn't. i feed them tetra cichlid mini granules.
