This is a real mystery to me.My angel fish keep laying eggs and eating them after the third day. Some of them turned white but not a lot really. I decided to pull the eggs to observe what was going on with them.Eggs staying clear for up to 3 days (72 hours after spawning) but completely undeveloped. After the third day they start turning white with a few still remaining clear but empty.
Any expert out there who can offer an explanation. :hyper:

Not sure, but will say my angels took atleast 6-7 attempts to get spawn, first 6 times was same as you, then after id get to eggs with tails, they ate, then another time free swimming then they ate the fry, well the male should i say,

What did you put them in to hatch, what temperature, any filtration or air running, what's your water pH & hardness?

I have a similar experience to Nelly. Mine were great parents up until 2-3 weeks old... All of my other cichlids that have bred have been fantastic from the off, but my Angels were a pain!

Tolak's the expert, but I'd wager that if the eggs are clear and "underdeveloped", maybe your male is infertile.

I'm having great success with other parents. No problem. My only mystery is the fact that these eggs aren't just going white in the normal 24 to 48 hours after spawning. They are remaining clear but just not developing. The ones I pulled I tried hatching in a small aquarium with an air stone running over them, methylene blue and temperature at 82 degrees. I bought these parents as a breeding pair supposed to have raised young already.
