Angelfish Behavior After Rehoming Other Fish

I have a Angelfish pair in my 60G tank. I started out with 6 (hoping to find a pair) and once the pair established and laid eggs twice, they became very aggressive towards the other fish (as expected). I brought the others to the LFS yesterday and since then the male has been hiding. He will come out and eat, but then returns to hiding under a plant. Yesterday he was lively as could be, chasing all of the other fish around. Is he just adjusting from being so stressed out before? There have been no other changes to the tank, water parameters and other fish are doing fine.

May simply be a change to the pecking order, particularly if he's subordinate to the female, as there'll be less spreading of the aggression. Hopefully it'll sort itself out as they sort the levels out, but keep an eye on him.

I think a 60 gallon would be ok for a school of 6 angels. They are actually  more comfortable in greater numbers that could be a cause of the hiding. if you want to breed the pair you can always separate them to a breeding tank

This seems to have been it. He's out of hiding today and swimming around with the female. Thanks!
