I got a large enough tank for them, and its all cycled but I was wondering what I can keep with Angel Fish, how easy are they to breed? and is sand ok for them?

I know I'll need something flat for them to lay eggs on and should get at least 6 for a breeding pair and best kept in a group, any other information anyone would like to share?

and idea how much they cost in uk? small/large

I think 6-8 is the recommended number to get a mating pair but the others may have to be removed once te pair have been formed... Unsure though but someone with more experience will probs be along soon.

I have 9 angel fish in a tank with sand and they have no problems with it :)

Prices around Bristol (england) are about £2.50-£5 for a small one and £5-£15 for a medium/large one

EDIT: I have a pair who lay eggs about twice a month but they havnt worked out how to fertilize them and eat them within about 2days of laying the eggs.
However, if angel fish do manage to have babies then they should look after them, protecting them just like a human would with a baby!

thanks i shall be getting 6-8 small 1s and let them grow

Where abouts in England are you?
You should be able to find an aquatic centre near you that sell them for around £2.50...
The nearest one to me sells them at £5 each for small ones so I usually drive 30 odd miles to another one who seems rather cheap (yet very good quality)

yes let them grow to adult size and they will pair up then let them spawn a couple of times to perfect their fertilization technique and then let them lay eggs again then take a tank or jar like having 2-3 gallon voulme put a heater in there with dechlorinated water...then put enough methylene blue in the jar to make the water really brown to block light and keep fungus away from the eggs. then put the eggs with the slate insite the jar and put an airstone on full power under the slate to create very turbulent environment around the eggs and keep removing an eggs that turn white then after 2-3 days the eggs will start to hatch into wigglers then. change the water completely without meth blue. set up a brine shrimp hatcherywhat i do is very simple take a nice big 2 gallon jar and put in an airstone on full pressure then add table salt to about 2 tsp per litre then let it mix up then add half a tsp of brine shrimp eggs in it and wait patiently even if you think you did something wrong...then one day youll see tiny brine shrimp every where when it gets full of brine shrimp turn the airpump off and shine a bright light somewhere they will get together at that spot then just suck em out, clean them by straining though a pantyhose with clean water and put them immediately in the jar but start feeding them brine shrimp after they have passed the wigler stage and all have been free swimming for atleast 3 days. then feed them brine shrimp thrice daily and keep on water changes then when they grow to look like tiny angelfish put then in a 55 gallon bare bottom tank with heater and sponge filter. and keep on feeding them brine shrimp until they can have frozena and pelleted foods.that is all!...phew
