Angel Fish Caught In Filter

Bought 2 new angel fish for my tank on sunday and they are tiny, at the moment my phantom tetras when they display are bigger than them!!.

Anyway all healthy but last night one went missing, couldn't find him anywhere -then I spotted the top of his tail in the the filter inlet tube!!

they are so thin he was able to swim/get sucked into the filter through the header bars (have a fluval) - fortunatley to big to go any further!!

Had to strip out the inlet tube and tap the fish back out into the water.
Made an emergency alteration to the filter inlet using an old tea strainer!! to stop a repeat happening.

He seems ok this morning!!

The moral here is - your water stats may be ok - but be aware of other dangers!!

Wooops! Lucky escape!... I had a gourami somehow manage to ge inside the jewel filter once, looked everywhere for it and then saw him swimming happily through the grills! Not got it anymore so won't be happening again!
