Ok so felt like my tanks were in Egypt this weekend...my crescent goodeid tank had a HUGE spike in nitri(a)te levels causing initially 2 fish to die...do a water change enter in some bio spira and stuff to lower the levels...at this point nowhere for these fish to go...next day or later that night, all blends together in these 3 day weekends ;) find 3 more dead go crazy and evacuate the tank putting whats left of my colony in with the corys and platy fry, think whew i'll go out buy more bio spira and stuff do anotehr 50% water change wwait a day or two and move em back in when the levels are down....as a side note Crescent Goodeidds are fine with C. aeneus and C. plateus...anywho on to my next woe...in my big tank i start thinking hmmm maybe i'll get a divider and put the crescents in there separating the Crescents and the Greens so no hybrids can be made...this was before my other 3 had died and had thrown them in so anyway im makin the wall also thinking it'd be nice if they give birth in there or at the worst i get them out, leave the wall up and let hte greens/platys give birth in that section since after talkin to Guppy monkey was kinda worried about the swords/killis eating the goodeid/platy fry...anyways i can't get the darn thing to stand right am furious then find other fish dead and move them in with the corys...anyway while this is all going on my pc is refusing to turn on which is also makin me mad as i can't even run any scans on it...anyway i fixed it late last night...but onto plague two i finally get the wall set move in two of my super prego green goodeids and all my prego platys except hte marble/gold hi fin mm platy girls cuz they're not as big yet...so they instantly start droppin or at least one did and i caught the fry and moved it in with the other platys,,,,although in retrospect it could very well have been goodeid,...anyway it seemed large but couldn't be sure with my frustrations...anyway moving on this morning wake up and the super prego green goodeid is dying seeming constipated :-( sucha sad way to go...anyway find one more trapped in a plastic plant in the other side dead too am like so upset with myself after 7 have died....anyway few minutes ago i walk in and i found goodeid fry  that made it all worth while...i got one fish to give birth to a rare baby and that sucker is huge and i mean HUGE...i'm not a girl so i don't know how it is to give birth to a baby, but man that goodeid fry was at least a 1/4 the length of the mom, thin, but super long i feel like if i knew which mama it was i should give her a tank to just relax in now LOL...anyway i'll post pics if i can find it and have a camera working...just wantedd to post this as that made my day :) hopefully more of my goodeids will start dropping sooN!!

Hey Guppy I will...Just found 2 more fry :-D im sooo geeked...still in shock how big they are!! they should be safe where they are since they're walled off with the pregos and have two caves and a crapload of plants java moss all over to hide in and definitely should be too big to eat...just hope the killis don't knock over the wall get in and eat them :sly: gonna go and try and get pics..

nature is funny so quickly the fry can hide ;) ill see if i can catch one to get a pic later or soon

after running around my office i found a ruler im gonna say probably about same length, and yes very thin...i cleaned my main tank yesterday and saw them swimming around, but haven't seen them since...i did move a ton of plants into their section of the tank so probably they are just hiding...I hope...

Congratulations on your babies, it must really be interesting and you are still over the moon, so to speak.

I have just obtained a pair of Green Goodeids. They are still in the QT tank and seem to be doing well. The tank has quite a bit of algae on the stone and the tank walls.

She is a beauty and he is not bad looking either for a runner up. They have colored up quite nicely; this is probably due to the food they have been eating; frozen, flakes and scuds).

I cannot wait to see pictures of your fry.

Cheers
