Tank Size: Approx. 96 Litre

How many fish do you recommend I should keep? So far I have:

3 x Lemon Tetra

3 x Glolite Tetra

2 x Pearl Gourami

4 x Neon Tetra

I was thinking to get a few more of the Neon Tetras and the GloLite Tetras, so that there are bigger groups of them. I read that they should be in larger groups.

Any advice for me?

Thanks.

You are actually fully stocked right now, technically.

Lemons & glowlights @ 2" = 12"

Pearls @ 4" = 8"

Neons @ 1"-1.75" = 4" min.

total = 24"

Tank: 96L/25G (24 US gallons with substrate/ornaments/filter/heater)

Beginning guideline: 1" per US gallon

Now, having said that, I agree it would be nice if your tetra shoals were bigger (all 3), so if your filtration is good then the members might debate some whether you should consider a fish or two more. The Pearls and Lemons worry me a bit as both can be aggressive at times. Perhaps others would feel the Lemon number should actually be the first to increase, just to hopefully distract the Lemons within their own group rather than having them nip others too much.

Sorry, what does the " mean after the number? How is it calculated?

" means inch, and just remeber tetras are very low waste producers, so you can be lenient with the stocking with tetras. IME i would keep those fish in 60 litres, how long has the tank been setup? the 1 inch a gallon rule is now becoming out dated, so IMO 1cm a litre is a good way of doing it.

96 litres = 96 cm

glowlights 3*4cm = 15cm
lemon tetra 3*4cm = 15cm
pearl gourami 2*10= 20cm
4 neons 4*4 = 16
total =66cm i would get 2 more neons, 2 more glowlights and 2 more lemon tetras.

is this a new tank? if so neons arent a good idea

I have had the tank running for 3 weeks now. So should I get 2 more neons, 2 lemons and 2 glolites or stick to what I have?

Sometimes the fish chase each other. I don't know if they are just playing, or if they are fighting.
Maybe with bigger groups of them they will be better.

The pearls seem to be fine. They just seem to do their own thing.

So what do you think?

The man in the fish shop said that when I add water then he gave me some bacteria biological supplement and water conditioner. Then he said add it in then after a couple of weeks I can add some fish, which I did. The biological supplement keeps down the ammonia and nitrite by adding bacteria.

I have been testing the water regularly.

The ammonia has been at 0.
The nitrite has also been at 0.
The nitrate has been somewhere around 10.

What do you think?
