Ok, I had a post a few days ago about this, ... kinda

I introduced a BKG to my tank that was cycled. Now its as if it never was. Added troubles, my tank just got really cloudy last night. The ammonia is at about 6ppm, 0 nitrite. I've been doing water changes daily (using aquasafe stuff that makes tap water safe for fish) I have been using ammo lock to detoxify the ammonia ever since i noticed that its been too high.

Is it possible to remove too much good bacteria from syphoning the gravel? Did I do too many water changes?

ANY HELP PLEASE- I'm almost to the point of taking the fish back and starting over.

What other fish do you have in the tank?

If I were you I would do a 30% water change a day. I would buy another filter, bottle of good bacteria, and box of ammonia chips. Get a pair of stockings and make a few bags of ammonia chips and shove as much as possible in both filters. Add good bacteria (follow directions on bottle), lower the temp, and make sure you have a good air stone going.

good luck

I have 2 platys and 1 spotted sailfin pleco.

I have been doing about 15% water changes once a day for a few days now- yesterday did 2 changes, probably will be doing 2 15% changes a day from now on.

I have an airstone going. I have an extra Hanging whisper filter, you think I should put that on as well???

Thank you for the advice.

yep. the more filtration and ammo chips the better. The more places to house good bacteria. A few months ago I put a bunch of fish in (my 29g) at the same time cuz I was having a crazy spell. I slapped an extra filter on with the xtra chips, bottled good bacteria, and water changed for two days and got it under control.

If you use ammolock then the ammonia won't be available for your bacteria to grow and it will stop the development of your biological filter. I would stop using ammolock, cut down feeding to a minimum and do regular water changes.
