HI,

Would i be right in assuming that Twisted Vallis and Amazon Sword are both background plants?

I'm trying to get a good idea on what plants ar best suited where as i need to rescape my tank but dont want to be loosing plants behind others.

Where ever you feel they are best suited in your tank! They are mostly best suited as background plants in my opinion and I have only ever used them for that.

Vallis look best right at the back in my opinion, as do Amazon Swords.

Wonderful, thank you for your assistance. As previously stated, i'm new to this whole planting thing so want to get it right. I did a google search earlier and came up with the same answer. My biggest problem is every thing is in its scientific name so i get confused easily lol.

What plants from an Amazon aspect would look nice mid tank and foreground with Swords and Vallis taking up the rear? I'd like something bushyish as well, some thing that puffs out so to speak.

If you have some bogwood, maybe some Java Fern would look nice attached to it?

Yeah, i've got some bogwood, pretty small pieces but another piece of a larger scale isn't too much of an issue.

If the smaller pieces are quite flat, you could try covering them with Java Moss.

I assure you it most definitely does not super strong lighting!

The only problem with Cabomba is that it bushes out and blocks the light from the bottom leaves in my experience even with bright lighting it won't penetrate through so many bushes, just give it a trimming every now and then.

AFAIK it's more about the wattage of the lights, T8 is only the measurement of the width of the tube not the output. However T5 lights generally have a larger output in wattage than equivalent T8 length bulbs.

I will say I have happily grown Cabomba under 2 x 18w T8 bulbs in a Rio125 with great success.
