I have amazon mollies i was wondering if they can breed with platies and guppies and endlers???

They cannot breed with guppies as they are completly different fish. Guppies can breed with endlers as they are closely related, the same with swordtails and platies.

Amazon molly or Poecilia formosa

These fish are closely related to both guppies and mollies and should avoid being kept with either types to stop a possible cross breed.

Nice fish and quite hard to fine too.

Thanks,
Just what i needed to know, now i have to pull them out of the community tank it took me 5 months to bring some home so.....
crossbreeding would be bad.
Where can i find male amazon mollies?? the company only sent me females.

There are no male amazon mollies. Amazon mollies are very strange fish, they are called amazon after the mythical tribe of all women warriors who used outsiders to reproduce. These mollies are the same. They will produce what amounts to clones of themselves but need to be stimulated by a male to accomplish it. They can be started by using a male sphenops or a male vellifera but will be genetically pure amazon when you are all done. A very interesting and rare fish that I have only read about and never seen in person. Where did you find one of those things Hotdogoramer?

Thanks for the Info OM47
I got them from a private breeder who sells fish to the specialty fish store near me, i asked him if he had any and he said no but he got them for me about 5 months later. I didn't ask him where he got them but I will ask for you and let you know when i get in touch.

Oh yes I remember these now.

You do have to cross breed them to stimulate the females to produce eggs, but the sperm in not used in fertilisation.

I must admit i forgot about this special little fish.

So It's that type of molly! I thought it was just another type like the sailfin, I remember reading an article in pfk about them. Such a strange fish.
