Alto. Comp. "sumbu Shell" Avaliable

Just watched your fry tank video clip, the layout was not quite what I was expecting, in a good way! ;)

What rock is that making all the nooks and crannies? It comes across as being quite calciferous on the clip. If so, is this your way of keeping the gH high and therefore keeping an alkaline pH?
Is that Java Fern attached to bits of rock?
I remember you saying about sadly losing a female adult who somehow got stuck in a shell, but are these fish more at home in rock caves than shells, or is it a bit of a mix?

TBH it's a bit of a mix with there habitat,
example
The small female will always use shells, usually ones near a rock, the small male will hang out near those shells but might only use them at night, the larger female(the one I lost) used a hollow piece of ocean rock(almost like a cave), the larger male uses the hollow wood where the plecs live and also hangs out near the slate area, when they are near the dark objects they go a lovely dark grey purple, really nice.
As for the fry tank I was running an air pump in with 2 sponge filters, crystal clear water but the pump drove me nuts, I don't think it was exceptionally noisy, I just wasn't used to it.
The rocks look volvanic but I think I have seen them advertised as lace rock, very light, there is a piece of ocean rock(the cave from the big tank that the female used to use ) and I think the other piece is a type of coral. I am now using an external filter which I cycled, removed the noodles and bioballs and have added aragonite coral gravel and an extra bio sponge also. It is just wee clips of fern, I only recently discovered the lighting in the tank is not that great for plant growth so fern is a good choice. I have cichlid sand there but not sure about adding it yet, might muck up the chemistry a bit, hate the bare glass bottom, sorry for the war and peace answer just like to cover all angles, cheers for asking though:good:
:fish:
P.S. The small male and female seem to be spending quite a bit of time together again, always hanging about in a new small shell area, it's looking promising.

Quick update....
Female has not left her shell... doing a headstand and (fingers crossed) looks like she is fanning eggs :good:

Sorry about the poor quality, using my phone ATM , camera on the santa list

I am very interested in some of these - but would need them posting. Would that be possible and what sort of cost would I be looking at including fish ?

I can source a reputable courier, normally15.00 - 20.00, i would probably get fish collected in the evening that way you got them in the morning. Not sure on price of fish yet, they won't be dear though as I'd like to see them spread out to different tanks, be nice to maybe see them in the shops at some point. The guy I bought them from is wanting some, I think he may take a few for people nearby, Ideally if a few forum members lived within a reasonable distance I could send a few down together then that would save on cost of delivery/fish, I did pay quite a bit for them but I'm not looking at this as i financial project, just be nice to see them in different tanks.... :good: Where you located ?
