Alternative treatment?

Thanks for the site- when you say it didn't work for you, did your fish's condition get any better during treatment, stayed the same or got worse?
ps: with the worming tablets, is there any indication on how many i should use?

No they didn't get any better the plecs on the med, as for pig worming tablets don't no the desage, probably a very tiny peice cut of the end of the tablet and crush up then add to the water, and stir well.

Don't bother with cat and dog worming tablets as i tryed them as a last resort they didn't work either, heard of using horse tablets as well and that's about it.

Ok..Thanks for all the advice Wilder an Tolak...I'll consider what i can do because i've never seen the med in the site at any lfs's around me and my lfs has a tendancy to only get things in a week after they have been ordered, by which time it could be too late and i may have even more fish affected.
Im not sure on the worming tablets as(as silly as it sounds), i don't have space for anymore tanks in my appartment unless i get rid of my toaster, which my fiance has said no to, so i may not be able to get a quarentine tank and my gut feeling is no to pig meds for fish....
..."sigh"...
I'll have to consider what to do, but i may just end up putting the platy down before anymore fish are affected...

I no it's an awful decision to make, but sometimes you have to sacriface one to save the others and believe me they will infect the others, if you can't see any red worms prutruding from the anus, you probably won't need to strip the tank down.

I can't see any worms coming out of their bums, but all the other symtoms match...I suppose i'll just have to put the platy down but its a real shame because her father died from the parasite and her mother looks a bit dodgey now and i sold all her brothers and sisters, so her gene blood line will be totally lost now i suppose...Its real bad too becuase before i did this thread i thought my situation wasn't serious at all and it was just a case of swapping meds...Ah well  ...

I no i'm blind as a bat as it is.

That's alot better.

Hey Tokis-Phoenix!

I'm having the same problems you are and i'm also considering putting down my platy....... I only had her for 3 weeks..... I just started to notice the problems with her 2 days ago. Yeah, I can't see the worms too.... but she is also showing signs of it. I was also thinking for using garlic but no one is giving me support on that.

I also found this product.
