Okay I found out that my LFS has pictus catfish and the Synodontis Eupterus. Now I can have one of that syno or I can have 3 pictus catfish? Is this right for a 55 gallon that has 2 firemouths and a severum?

I would go for the Pictus's because they are nice and Active. If u have good filtration u should be fine. Eupterous's are cool to

I like both of them, well I got a few more days till my tank is ready for them so I'll decide by then. :)

I'm partial to Pimelodus as well , saw some nice looking Four line Pims in a shop the other day . :/ they grow to around 10", stick to pictus

I've heard pictus are more active so I'm leaning a bit more towards them but I'm waiting for my LFS has the Syno Euruptus in stock so I can see them in person. :)

I got so caught up with those two types of catfish are there any other catfish or bottom type dweller I could have in my 55 with 2 firemouths and a sev.

u pretty much picked out the best ones. I have never seen my pictus's stop moving. Its really a matter of personal preference but i would go for the pictus's because they dont get as big so if u wanted a slightly smaller fish it wouldnt become lunch. USD's and glass cats are an option but they get a little on the expensive side to get big enough groups.

I think I may go for the feather fin they are cool and I don't have to worry about catching the pictus in a net at least I've heard your not suppose to. I'm going to make my decision once I see the feather fin for real.

I loathe my featherfins...they have killed smaller firemouth and mixteco..they rountinely attacked my Green terror, and they chase and try to attack my hrp...
If I could catch this last one,it would be gone..they are territorial and nasty and I can't stand anything about them other then the look... lol

:( I keep getting conflicting reports saying pictus are great, no they are bad. Then what you just said about feather fins. Anyone else care to give me another ideas, more ideas? :p
