Yah, I think the gravel is fine, but I was actually looking for comments on the tank layout and plants, I edited the original post to include the questions.

KH - 7 - 8
nitrates - 0
nitrites - 0
ammonia - 0

is it odd that my KH shifts from 5 to 7 or 8 when I add co2?
