OK, so as some of you many know from previous threads, i've just started a 150UK Gallon Cichlid tank, full of Malawi's. I currently have 14 and they have all settled in well and got brave, except one. The rest are near the top of the tank, swimming around and always looking for food but this other guy just swims (well, more drifts) around the rocks at the bottom of the tank. He didn't go for any food when I just fed them? I think he was in the batch that I added yesterday, is it just he's taking longer to settle in??

P.S. - I'll get some pictures of the tank today (as I know many people are excitied to see the new set-up!)

Cheers
TIMMYSTOOD :good:

I had the same prob with my new fish.. give him some time, he'll start to eat a little more over the next few days

What i did to encourage mine to eat was i first put food at a part of the tank away from him, then put some food directly above him, so that while the other fish rushed for the first set of the food, he came up and ate

What species is the Mbuna in question?

This is one of the problems I have... I have 14 Malawi's and I have no idea on the ID of any of them.. the LFS worker was splurting out all these names and the same time as I was in the excitment of picking out the fish! :( There was no way I could remember ALL the ID's!

I know I keep saying it but i'll get some pictures tonight, when it gets dark! :good:

If you can get pics of all of them, we'll have a stab at identifying the lot for you. :D

Do it while your feeding them and they're all eating, that way, less pics, more fish (i'm on 56k :p).. and it'll be easy to get the 'alone' as he will be.. well.. alone
