Hi

I awoke to day to find some kind of yellow/blue groath attached to the back of my aquarium. There is about 8 seperate sections of it and it seems to be spreading. Also i have black and white gravel on the bottom of the tank and some pf the whits is starting to go a orangy brown colour and im sure this is due to the groath on the back of the aquarium. Please could someone tell me what this problem is and if possible how to combat it and return my aquarium to its original state.

Water changes will help. High nitrAtes and sunlight on the tank cause the algea to grow. Scrub it off and then do a small water change. The tank should settle down fairly soon.
