Hi just a quick question, ive started to get a green furry like algae in my fish tank, i was just wondering what is the best way to get rid of it, maybe an algae eater or a water additive? thanks adam

someone with more knowledge will be on in a minute but algae tends to indicate either too much light or something not quite right with your water parameters I think it is nitrate?

You could get an algae eating plec but they don;t tend to eat all the algae preferring the food that goes in and all additives do is hide a problem elsewhere.

Hope this helps but someone will point you in the right direction in a bit

Green furry algae sounds like either 'thread algae' or 'black beard algae' known as BBA in short. Not necesarily black though. Read James Algae guide in the link in my sig, it'll explain it way better than i ever could. :)
