is there anythin i can get or do ? its brown, covering all my rocks and its ****ing me off by making my tank look dull and mucky.

anyone have any tips or recomended products ??? thanks.

more than likely a LACK of light, and poor water... try regular water changes - say couple of time a week, and maybe add some more light... live plants would help too.

i thought it may be the light. but my light is off only for about 8 or 9 hours (at the most) per day. too long ??? my water test results came back fine this morning, i do have live plants & i do do regular water changes.

yeah, only if the tank is big enough and can accomodate the extra inhabitant.

get some bristlenose catfish they love algae and maybe get a filter with a strong current

This happened with my 16g tank. Usually the brown algae (diatoms) is due to (1) a lack of light (rather than too much light), and (2) an 'immature' tank.

You may find that the algae will disappear over time.
