I have recently noticed to green on the glass of my tank.I cleaned the tank and did a water change 2 days ago but the 'green' just keeps coming back. There looks to be like little green hairs on the glass and it seems hard to get rid of.Has anyone got any suggestions of how to get rid of the Algae.
Thanks

what size tank?

how long has it been up and running?

what fish do you have in there?

any live plants?

any driftwood?

how often do you feed and what do you feed?

what are your readings: pH, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate?

Is sunlight falling on the tank and how long do you have your lights on?

The Tank is 70 litres
Set up for 10 months
I have look at my signiture for the fish
I feed them once a day
No live plants
1 piece of bogwood
As for the readings i use 5 in 1 test strips and they are all within the indicated 'safe' zones
The Tank isnt in sunlight

ok, didn't realize that list of fish were all in this same tank.....

as for your readings, you'll find most people here use the test drops, rather than the strips, because the strips tend to be pretty unreliable.... having never seen one, can you tell us what the readings actually are, instead of saying they're in the "safe zone"? :)

Nitrate:15ppm
Nitrite:0
Hardness or GH: 17.0
KH:7.0
PH:7.0

P.s my sig needs updating as i dont have as many fish now

The 2 biggest problem with strips is that 1) there very inaccurate and 2) they don't test for ammonia. Ammonia is the first toxin your tank encounters. It is very important to know what that reading is too. Most likely it is zero since the tank has been set up for 10 months but there's no guarantee. I would suggest trashing the strips and getting a good liquid master kit.

The best way to get rid of the algae is to scrape it off. If it continues to come back, you may want to check your feeding amount and the length of time your lights are on. Either of those factors can lead to algae but a combination of over feedingand too much light can really set it off.

Edit: I don't know if you have updated your fish list yet or no but the clown loach will definitely outgrow your tank and should be rehomed ASAP. The molly would also prefer brackish water.
