i can see a few spots but nothing too serious. Let it run its course, after 4 weeks it will die and scrape off easily, hopefully it wont return.
I dont know what llj is going to say, but i am sticking with sunlight being the problem, especially since it has only just started with the windows being directly across form the tank too.
Position the spraybar so it is pointing directly at the front glass so the flow is pushed downwards, if not doing so already

So this is what all the fuss is about! I'm sorry, I'm just playing. I can see the algae on the castle roof. I can't see the green spot algae, though. Tank looks good. :good:

One of your plants, front and center that looks like a non-aquatic! I am not certain, though, I would need a close up. It looks too stiff to be a real aquatic grass and resembles mondo grass or Japanese rush. The presence of a non-aquatic in your tank may may be the cause of your woes after 2-3 months of stability. After 2-3 months, many non-aquatics start to die off. I can also see yellowing leaves.

Thanks to both of you for your comemnts and advice. To be honest the photos (and the size they are displayed at here) do not really show the algae at it's best...so to speak

I've added another couple of shots below that provides a better look at the plant lljdma06 is referring to....and he is correct, that plant looked great for a few months and is now starting to deteriorate...time to remove it?

It does look like Aaron's plant. I usually assume non-aquatic, and many from the genus Cyperus are, but that being said, maybe Mr. C. helferi isn't so very happy anymore and has decided to protest. Especially if Mr. Sword, Mr. stem, the floaters, and Mr. Java fern are taking away all of his nutrients. Plants consume at different rates. Maybe he's being out-competed.

Your spot algae still doesn't look all that bad to me.
