Hi,
I have a nasty load of algae in one of my tanks. It is a very dark green and has started to cover the rocks, gravel and plants. I'm especially worried about the plants as it smothers their leaves completely.
I have been doing 15% water changes every couple of days and added a Green-X phosphate/nitrate absorber to the filter.
Can anyone help with advice on how to get rid of the algae please?

Cut down drastically on feeding and turn the lights off for about 4 days, the plants will cope but the algae should die, Then add lots of floating plants
