hi everyone :shout: I was just wondering about the brown algae on the glass and decorations while I am cycling the tank, does it effect the cycling process if I remove it? It makes the tank look awful

thanks :D

It wont affect anything if you remove it. But you might find it comes back pretty quickly. Hehe, so feel free. But be ready to have to do it again in a few days.

another user on here recommended you keep the tank covered from light during the cycling process, which is what I am doing, and no algae thus far :)
might be an issue if you have live plants in the tank though

The only reason I didn't turn off the light is that I have live plants in there

Start by limiting your light hours to a few in the morning when you're there and more in the evening when viewing, etc.
